A Tamaqua man who twice drove under the influence of drugs in 2012 will not have to spend more time in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court to two DUI charges.

Justin E. McArdle, 26, was sentenced by Judge James P. Goodman to serve six days to one year in prison; however, Goodman granted him immediate parole.

Goodman also sentenced McArdle to pay costs, $2,000 in fines, $200 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $920 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and perform 20 hours community service.

Prosecutors said McArdle's crimes occurred in different boroughs.

Coaldale police charged McArdle with DUI on Aug. 26, 2012, in that borough, while Tamaqua police charged him with DUI on Nov. 25, 2012, in their borough.

Other people who pleaded guilty before Goodman on Wednesday, the crimes they admitted committing and the sentences the judge imposed pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants included:

Robert B. Bowers III, 26, of Pottsville; DUI, driving under suspension and careless driving; 72 hours to six months in prison, $1,225 in fines, $100 SAEF payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 20 hours community service. Prosecutors withdrew charges of driving without a license, failure to keep right, disregarding traffic lane and failure to drive at a safe speed.

Brian E. Erdman, 24, of Spring Glen; DUI, carrying a firearm without a license and failure to drive at a safe speed; 72 hours to six months in prison, 12 months consecutive probation, $1,025 in fines, $100 SAEF payment, $50 bench warrant fee, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 10 hours community service, with sentence effective at 10 a.m. Monday. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of careless driving.

Michael J. Kendall Jr., 28, of Quakertown; recklessly endangering another person; 12 months probation and $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account. Prosecutors withdrew charges of simple assault and harassment.

Gary W. Marx, 25, of Port Carbon; three counts of criminal mischief; 23 months probation, $50 CJEA payment, $1,812.15 restitution, 10 hours community service and drug and alcohol evaluation. Prosecutors withdrew charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Rhiannon Meyer, 35, of Gilberton; carrying a firearm without a license and theft; 23 months probation. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of receiving stolen property.

Belinda J. Moore, 23, of Spring Glen; possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; 12 months probation, $100 SAEF payment and $50 bench warrant fee.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
