The Jaycees of Schuylkill County will be visited by National Jaycee President Chrystal Ramsay-Dyess on Thursday as she continues her tour of the United States.
Ramsay-Dyess will be stopping at 6:30 p.m. in Bubeck Park, Schuylkill Haven, to promote and raise awareness for the Nothing But Nets campaign she's working with.
"It's a wonderful opportunity," Holly Zulick, associate member of the Northern Schuylkill Area Jaycees, said in a phone interview Tuesday. "Not every national president gets to visit every state in the U.S. In fact, she's personally coming to meet us. It's a wonderful occasion."
Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to fight malaria, a leading cause of death among children in Africa. Nothing But Nets provides everyone the opportunity to join the fight against malaria by donating $10 to send a net and save a life.
The Jaycees president of Pennsylvania, Krista Muir, Frackville, will also be in attendance.
