Police charge
pair with assault
MAHANOY CITY - State police at Frackville are charging Dina Quinn, 33, and Tyler Smith, 27, both of Mahanoy City, following a simple assault incident that took place at 1:28 a.m. Thursday near 89 Park Place Road in Mahanoy Township.
Police said May Byrne, 39, of Mahanoy City, Quinn and Smith were having an argument about riding four wheelers at all hours of the night.
Quinn and Smith escalated the argument when Quinn drove her car toward Byrne and Smith threw the passenger side door open, striking Byrne when they were driving by.
Charges will be filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.

damaged vehicle
PINE GROVE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating damage to a vehicle that occurred between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 7:50 a.m. Tuesday at 61 Spittler Road in Pine Grove Township.
Police said a suspect cut the valve stem on the right rear tire of a vehicle belonging to Alford Rich, 49, of Ravine, while it was parked in front of his house.
This caused the tire to leak air.
