A Girardville man will spend at least two months on house arrest after being convicted Monday in Schuylkill County Court of driving with a license that had been suspended for an alcohol-related reason.
David J. Whipple, 19, must serve 60 to 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring under the terms of Judge John E. Domalakes' sentence.
Domalakes, who found Whipple guilty of driving under suspension-DUI related, also sentenced Whipple to pay costs and a $500 fine and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation. The judge made the sentence effective on Feb. 3.
Girardville police had charged Whipple with driving with a suspended license on Oct. 15, 2013, in the borough. Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville, had found Whipple guilty on Nov. 20, but he appealed that decision on Nov. 22.
