Frackville

The South End Field and Stream Association will hold its Kiddies Day with a fishing rodeo Saturday at the Whippoorwill Dam, Morea Road. Registration will start at at 8 a.m. for children 15 and younger. The rodeo will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with three age groups and a prize for the biggest fish in each group. All children may eat and drink free during the rodeo. Food will be available for sale to adults. There will be a memorial trout release at 10 a.m. with fish donated in memory or in honor of loved ones and include a $10 fish or $25 fish. Donors can participate in the trout release. Newtown

The Newtown Fish & Game Association will have a children’s fish rodeo beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday and free for all children under 16. It will be at the Newtown Dam, Church Street. There will also be a free lunch for the children. For more information, call 570-399-5049.

Pine Grove

The Pine Grove Area High School Alumni Association will host the 91st annual reunion and banquet from 5 to 9 p.m. May 27 in the Pine Grove Area Middle School Cafeteria, School Street. The cost is $22 and tickets are on sale at Werner’s Lumber Co., Pine Grove, and Dee’s Flowers, Tremont. The association will present the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Humanitarian Award. Pottsville

Theresa Santai-Gaffney, Schuylkill County register of wills and clerk of the orphans’ court, released the following report for March: Estates processed, 96; marriage licenses issued, 43; adoptions completed, three; inheritance tax remitted to the commonwealth, $1,063,245.27; county fees collected, $21,721.

Pottsville

The annual spring concert by the associated choirs of Pottsville Area High School is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school’s Wachter Auditorium, 16th Street and Elk Avenue. Admission is $2 and all are welcome. For more information, call 570-621-2962.

Schuylkill Haven

Ceremonies to mark the 20th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and dedication of a Field Cross at the site along Route 61 near the entrance to Penn State School campus will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Tamaqua

Tamaqua Area High School will host a free event from 5 to 11 p.m. for all students on Saturday called Field Flick, hosted by the Raiders STEP Up, and ongoing drug prevention initiative. The event will be held in the district stadium. In the event of rain, it will be in the gymnasium. There will be games, food and entertainment. The highlight will be an outdoor move on the field. The goal is to promote “pro-social activities with peers and faculty.

Tamaqua

The Tamaqua Hunger Walk has been postponed until May 21. The walk’s goal is to raise awareness of the hunger issue in the Tamaqua area and to collect food items and money for the three food banks that serve local families: Trinity United Church of Christ, Salvation Army and Primitive Methodist Church. The walk is a project of the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network, a 501c3 nonprofit under the umbrella of the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership, according to a release. Donations can be sent TAFFN at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St. with checks made to TAFFN. Registration forms for the walk are available on the TAFFN website at www.taffn.org.
