n Pottsville: The Anthracite Philharmonic, under the direction of Mark P. Thomas, will present "Christmas Pops" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Third and Market streets. The rehearsal for the concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Pottsville Area School District's D.H.H. Lengle Middle School Auditorium.
n Pottsville: "A Majestic Christmas with Bradley Dean and Ron Stabinsky" holiday concert to benefit the Sovereign Majestic Theater will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 23 at the theater, North Centre Street. Broadway's Bradley Dean and pianist Ron Stabinsky return to their hometown of Pottsville for the performance. n Shenandoah: Francis Cardinal Brennan Knights of Columbus Council 618 will sponsor another mega bingo on Dec. 15 in St. Stephen Roman Catholic Parish Hall, Main and Oak streets. Doors will open at noon and games will begin at 2 p.m. Food and refreshments will be on sale. Everyone is welcome. The hall is accessible to the handicapped. The council also sponsors hoagie sales the second Tuesday of the month. The cost is $4 per hoagie and pickups are from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the council home, 201 W. n Tamaqua: Susan M. Featro will perform a concert of holiday music at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine St. The event is a benefit for the arts center and the Tamaqua Blue Raider Foundation, which funds special projects in the Tamaqua Area School District. According to a center press release, Featro is excited to do the benefit concert for the second year. She is a Tamaqua Area High School graduate and is now a teacher in the district. The arts center held its grand opening in June 2012 and features performances and arts education. Featro has released one CD titled "Voice Lifted." She will play the piano and guitar during the performance and sing familiar carols and special holidays pieces. She will be joined by special musical guests for a few songs. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. The arts center and Raider foundation will each receive 50 percent of the proceeds. For tickets or more information, call 570-668-3232.
