ORWIGSBURG — A Pottsville woman is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on drug and firearm charges resulting from a traffic stop in June in Schuylkill Haven.

Mindy M. Barnes, 19, of 451 E. Norwegian St. Apt. B, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a firearm without a license.

Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over all charges for court after Barnes waive her right to the hearing.

Schuylkill Haven borough police allege Barnes possessed a salable amount of heroin, 44 wax paper baggies and a loaded handgun at 5:02 p.m. June 20 in the 700 block of North Garfield Avenue in the borough. Police said Barnes was the passenger in a 1991 gray Buick LeSabre when it was stopped.

Barnes is free on $15,000 unsecured bail pending further court action.

Other defendants whose cases Ferrier considered on Tuesday, the charges against each one and the judge’s dispositions of the matters included:

William Barner-Bornstein, 19, of 1002 Village Road, Orwigsburg; driving under the influence, failure to drive at a safe speed, careless driving and reckless driving; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge of reckless driving withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.

Kassidy N. Bowers, 19, of 613 Harrison St., Pottsville; possession of drug paraphernalia; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge bound over for court.

Angela J. Gudinas, 36, of 1742 W. Market St., Pottsville; three counts of conspiracy and one each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Allen S. Johns, 37, of 429 North St., Minersville; theft, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Cori W. Sites, 34, of 160 W. Second Mountain Road, Pottsville; DUI, driving unregistered vehicle, disregarding traffic lane and speeding; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.

Jacquelin Sites, 36, of 19 Fritz Reed Ave., Schuylkill Haven; possession of drug paraphernalia; right to preliminary hearing waived, charge bound over for court.

Nathan B. Sites, 33, of 60 Valley Road, New Philadelphia; two counts each of simple assault and harassment and one each of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and public drunkenness; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges of burglary, simple assault and harassment withdrawn, other charges bound over for court.
