The weather on Wednesday will tease Schuylkill County residents with warm day temperatures before dropping to single digits over the next week.
“This storm is kind of in two parts. One, there is a cold front coming through and there is also going to be a system coming off of the coast,” Brian Edwards, AccuWeather meteorologist, said Monday. “The question becomes do they end up interacting with each other and cause a bigger snowstorm? Things are a little bit uncertain right now.”
After temperatures in the high 30s on Wednesday, the county will get “a round of light snow because of the front” that will come in Wednesday night, Edwards said.
Temperatures will continue to fall due to a blast of Arctic air Thursday, dropping to as low as zero degrees heading into Friday. The temperature is not likely to climb out of the teens Friday.
The county may also see a “little light snow due to a little clipper system that is going to pass by to our north,” Edwards said. “I don’t think it’s much more than a coating.”
