Police investigate

hit-and-run crash

MINERSVILLE — State police at Frackville are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 5:30 p.m. Monday on Valley Road in Cass Township.

Police said a bright red pickup truck was eastbound on Valley Road and went off the southern berm, striking the driver’s side of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Harold J. Ebling, 25, of Minersville. Police said Ebling’s truck was parked in front of 586 Valley Road.

Police said hit-and-run truck should have light damage on its passenger side.

Cass Township police were not working at the time of the incident.

ASHLAND — Borough police are warning residents to be aware of a possible scam that is being attempted by telephone.

Police said on Thursday that a resident received a telephone call from a person who said they were representing Melendez Legal Group and that a warrant was going to be issued for the resident for not paying taxes.

Police remind residents not to give a personal information, personal data or financial information to anyone over the telephone.

Anyone who needs to report a possible scam can call police at 570-462-1991.

Shen man faces

charges in theft

SHENANDOAH — Shenandoah police have filed charges against a borough man stemming from an incident that occurred at 21 N. Main St. between 6 p.m. July 2 and 1 a.m. July 3.

Police said Joshua E. Kaylor, 24, of 225 E. Centre St., was charged with unauthorized use of a credit card, theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Samantha Sensenbach reported that someone stole her wristlet wallet and used her credit card at Boyer’s Food Market to make two transactions, one for $137.30 and the other for $8.

Police said it was learned that Kaylor owed a woman money and gave her the credit card with a personal identification number written on a piece of paper and told her to use it for the money that he had to repay for damaging a window.

Kaylor will have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, police said.

SHENANDOAH — Borough police filed charges against a Shenandoah man in connection with an incident at that occurred at 7:25 p.m. June 29 at 22 N. Market St. .

Police said Tuesday that Frank W. George, 51, of 239 E. Lloyd St., was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Police said officers were called to the area for a report of three people smoking marijuana. When the three were found, police said a man and woman were searched and found with nothing illegal but George, when searched, was found with marijuana and a brass pipe.

George will have to appear before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker to answer to the charges, police said.

Shen man accused

in assault incident

SHENANDOAH — A borough man is facing charges of simple assault and harassment after an incident at 100 W. Laurel St. that occurred about 1:55 p.m. July 6, police said.

Borough police said Dustin W. Abrachinsky, 31, of 27 N. Ferguson St., will have to appear before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, to answer to the charges.

Police said officers were called to the area and spoke with Amanda Kline, who said she was assaulted by Abrachinsky, her ex-boyfriend, about going for a walk with dogs.

Kline reported that Abrachinsky grabbed her by the arms, began to yell at her and when she yelled back, he spit in her face several times, calling her names, police said.

Abrachinsky also threw the woman’s cellphone at her and kicked her in the head with his shoes on, police said, adding that Kline received treatment at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street for minor head injuries.

SHENANDOAH — A borough woman was charged with scattering rubbish by borough police after an incident outside her 128 N. Lehigh St. home at 12:25 a.m. July 29, police said.

Police said officers were called to the area and saw articles of clothing hanging from a porch roof as if they were thrown from a window, along with children’s toys and a television in the street.

Police said Crystal Luscin came out of her home and when asked if the items were hers, she said, “It’s not my things. They belong to children and youth.”

The woman refused to pick the items up, resulting in the charge, police said.

Police probe theft

of irrigation guns

TOWER CITY — State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft that occurred at 31 Schwalm Road in Porter Township between July 24 and 29.

Police said someone entered the property of Tallman Farms and removed two irrigation guns. One of the guns is described as a Nelson 100 Part Circle and the other as a Holz Irrigation Gun. Each weights about 28 pounds and is made of aluminum, police said.
