PINE GROVE — State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the attempted homicide of a Pine Grove man.
Richard Behney, 34, was shot with a .22 caliber bullet between 6:30 and 6:40 a.m. Monday in his driveway of his 64 Fisher Road, Wayne Township, home.
He was shot in the right hand and left buttocks area and went back inside his home after the incident, police said.
The alleged shooter, who later fled the scene, was lying in a wooded area on the east side of the driveway waiting for Behney to exit the home, police said.
Pine Grove EMS and paramedics from Pottsville treated Behney for gunshot wounds at the scene.
He was later taken to Reading Hospital, though a hospital employee said Behney was not a patient there as of Tuesday evening.
Anyone with information should call Trooper Chad Smith at the Schuylkill Haven barracks at 570-739-1330.
