Frackville man
injured in crash
FRACKVILLE - A 21-year-old Frackville man was flown to Geisinger Medical Center after falling asleep and being ejected from a car while driving on Interstate 81 recently.
State police at Frackville said Chad B. Mickatavage was driving north at 7:20 p.m. on I-81 in Butler Township when he fell asleep July 15.
He has since been treated at the hospital and released after suffering moderate injuries, police said.
The 2004 Pontiac Sunfire he was driving left the road and hit a guide rail on the east side of the road. The car then traveled north on the east side and hit two trees and rolled over before hitting a third tree and stopping, police said.
He was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
He was charged with careless driving.

to charges filed
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Five people escaped injury after a car accident Sunday.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dana A. Seisler, 39, of Auburn, was driving west on Route 443 when she turned left to travel south on Route 183 at a red light.
As she did at 12:36 a.m., the right mirror of her 2014 Toyota Highlander was hit a trailer being towed by Barry J. Harbonic, 65, of Bernville, who was driving a 2010 Chevrolet 2500, police said.
Harbonic had a green light at the intersection with Route 443 and Route 183 and was going south on Route 183 when the accident occurred, police said.
Seisler's mirror was struck by the front driver's side of the trailer.
Seisler was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, police said.
She took a field sobriety test after being asked and was later arrested for alleged DUI, police said.
A blood sample was requested at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street to determine her blood alcohol content. Seisler was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Neither Harbonic nor his three passengers, Larry D. Miller, 67, of Mohrsville, Michael L. Moyer, 43, of Bernville, or a 17-year-old juvenile from Bernville was injured.
All were wearing seat belts, police said. Charges were filed at Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier's office, Orwigsburg.
Fleetwood man
faces charges
A Fleetwood man was jailed Sunday after being arrested by Pottsville police for allegedly threatening a city woman.
Police said William J. Murphy, 46, was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, on charges of terroristic violence and domestic violence simple assault and committed to prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
Police said about 3:20 p.m. a 47-year-old Pottsville woman reported Murphy called her and said he was coming to her 724 Mine St. home to harm her and her two sons.
Police said about 15 minutes later Murphy showed up with a knife, made threats and fled before police arrived.
Police said Murphy later surrendered to officers and was subsequently charged and arraigned.

The North Central Regional Sobriety Checkpoint DUI Taskforce announced that Sobriety Checkpoints and Roving DUI Patrols will be conducted today through July 28 on routes 61, 183, 901, 209, 1006, 309, 1008, 443, 895, 125, 25 924 and 54.
