2 injured in crash
in Berks County
HAMBURG - Two people were injured when their vehicles collided on Route 61, Pottsville Pike, about a half mile north of Zion's Church Road in Perry Township, Berks County, at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday.
State police at Hamburg said Sam Detweiler, 35, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer south when he lost control on the wet road, crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with a northbound 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Jennifer Zettlemoyer, 28, of Kempton.
Police said both drivers were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries that were classified as minor for Detweiler and moderate for Zettlemoyer. Detweiler will receive a citation as a result of the crash, police said.

injured in crash
HAMBURG - State police at Hamburg investigated a crash that occurred on Route 61, Pottsville Pike, just north of Shappell Road in Windsor Township, Berks County, about 3:55 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Chrisson Aristilde, 25, of Leesport, was driving a 2004 Mazda 3 when she ran into the back of a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Kimberly Martin, 41, of New Philadelphia, who was stopped in the left lane to make a turn.
Martin and one of her passengers, a 13-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries while Aristilde and another passenger in Martin's car, and 8-year-old, escaped injury.
Police said Aristilde will receive a citation as a result of the crash.
Hamburg man
charged in assault
HAMBURG - A 50-year-old Hamburg man was arrested by state police at Hamburg and charged with simple assault after an incident at 16425 Pottsville Pike in Windsor Township, Berks County, at 11 p.m. Saturday.
Police said Jody F. Wasilko became involved in an argument with a 41-year-old Hamburg woman during which he grabbed her, causing abrasions around her neck. The victim also suffered swelling on her forehead after being pushed into the molding of a door by Wasilko, police said.
Tamaqua woman
faces charges
HOMETOWN - A 24-year-old Tamaqua woman is facing charges by Rush Township police after an incident at the Hometown Farmer's Market about 6:55 p.m. June 5.
Police said Alyssa Bensinger will have to appear before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, on charges of simple assault, receiving stolen property and retail theft.
Police said Bensinger stole a $12 shirt from a vendor and when the vendor tried to get the shirt back, Bensinger began to punch the seller several times.
