Schuylkill County prosecutors have decided to withdraw charges against a Shenandoah man.
Christopher S. Streeter, 24, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Shenandoah police alleged he possessed the paraphernalia on March 15 in the borough.
President Judge William E. Baldwin issued an order Monday allowing prosecutors to withdraw the charge and directing them to pay the costs of the case.
On Friday, Derek A. Shellhamer, 27, of Allentown, pleaded guilty to access device fraud and theft by deception, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of receiving stolen property.
Judge James P. Goodman accepted the plea and sentenced Shellhamer to serve three to 24 months in a state correctional institution, pay costs and $443 restitution and submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.
Tamaqua police had charged Shellhamer with committing his crimes on April 8, 20113, in the borough.
In other recent county court action, Goodman accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:
Amanda E. Barefoot, 25, of Shenandoah; theft of leased property; 105 days to 23 months in prison, $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $50 bench warrant fee and $1,830.39 restitution. Prosecutors withdrew a second count of theft of leased property.
Bruce W. Bass, 33, of New Philadelphia; securing execution of documents by deception and retail theft; 73 days to 23 months in prison, $50 CJEA payment and $50 bench warrant fee. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of receiving stolen property.
Christopher M. Brennan, 36, of Girardville; attempted robbery; three to six years in a state correctional institution, $50 CJEA payment and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew a second count of attempted robbery and charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and attempted theft.
Christopher Buck, 28, of Mahanoy City; possession of drug paraphernalia; one to 12 months in prison and $100 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund.
Ashley A. Capiga, 25, of Shenandoah; possession of drug paraphernalia; 12 months probation consecutive to current sentence and $100 SAEF payment.
Victor Declet, 21, of Bronx, New York; two counts each of corruption of minors and possession of a controlled substance and one each of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to yield right of way to pedestrian; 113 days to 23 months in prison, $25 fine, $100 SAEF payment, $50 CJEA payment and $176 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem. Prosecutors withdrew two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and luring a child into a motor vehicle and Goodman dismissed two counts of unlawful restraint.
Frederick C. Hess Jr., 40, of Pottsville; possession of drug paraphernalia; 147 days to 12 months in prison and $100 SAEF payment.
All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
