ORWIGSBURG - A Mahanoy City man faces Schuylkill County Court action after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on a charge of having indecent contact with a teenage girl in February in Schuylkill Haven.

Kristopher M. Perry, 39, of 10 W. Centre St., is charged with indecent assault. Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over the charge for court after Perry waived his right to the hearing.

Schuylkill Haven borough police alleged Perry assaulted the girl between Feb. 21 and Feb. 23 at the teen's home.

Police said Perry rubbed the girl's back and private areas under her clothing.

The girl told a teacher at Schuylkill Haven Area High School about the incident, police said. The teacher, in turn, contacted county Children & Youth authorities, who contacted police.

The girl also told the teacher similar contact had occurred before, police said.

Police said they interviewed Perry on April 11, and he admitted to committing the crime.

Perry is free on $5,000 unsecured bail pending further court action.
