2 escape injury
in 2-vehicle crash
Two people were uninjured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in North Manheim Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred at 7:50 a.m. at Route 61 and Seven Stars Road in the township as Lisa Michelcavage, 47, of Pottsville, was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla north in the left lane of Route 61 and was stopped waiting to turn left.
She began to turn left after the green arrow had gone off and turned in front of Russell C. Lang, 53, of Pottsville, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier south in the right lane of Route 61, police said.
The left front bumper of the Cavalier struck the right front bumper of the Toyota in the intersection. Both vehicles stopped in the intersection after the collision, blocking the right lane of Route 61 southbound, police said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said
Charges against Michelcavage for a traffic violation will be filed with Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.
Schuylkill Haven fire police assisted at the scene.
