Lehigh Valley Health Network Breast Health Services has reopened 15 locations to provide screening mammograms for women 40 or older.

During the coronavirus pandemic, LVHN could only offer diagnostic mammography services for women with suspected breast cancer.

Staff at all locations are following important safety measures to help ensure patients receive mammography services in COVID-safe facilities. Some of the precautions being taken include:

• Everyone receives a temperature screening at the door.

• Patient arrival times are staggered and waiting room seating is spaced to support social distancing.

• Everyone must wear a face mask.

• At the registration desk, a clear acrylic panel is in place to protect patients and our staff.

Mammograms are an important type of preventive screening, helping to identify cancer at its earliest stages.

“Since the coronavirus outbreak, many women have not come back for their diagnostic mammography,” said Catherine Taranto, program director, LVHN Breast Health Services. “Don’t put your health on hold. You can confidently schedule your mammogram right now. Because we’re taking these steps to protect you and deliver the safe care you deserve.”

Patients can log in to their MyLVHN account or call 888-402-LVHN (5846) to make an appointment.

Mammography services are available locally at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street and LVHN Imaging Center in Pottsville.
