Pottsville police are looking for a man who robbed a city business at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
Police said the robbery occurred just after 10 a.m. at Ambrose Hearing Center, 434 E. Norwegian St.
Officers were called at 10:05 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery and, while en route, were told the man responsible was white and wearing a light gray hoodie sweatshirt.
After committing the robbery, the man fled on foot, running east on East Norwegian Street and north on Jackson Street.
Pottsville officers, assisted by Pennsylvania State Police troopers, immediately canvassed the area while maintaining a secure perimeter.
Despite the search, the robber was not located, police said.
The initial investigation showed the man, described as being young, in his 20s, entered the business through the front door, made contact with the owner and then brandished what appeared to be a dark handgun.
The man then forced the victim to turn over a small amount of cash before leaving through the same door.
No injuries were reported.
Police are asking that anyone with information on the person responsible for this robbery call them at 570-622-1234. All information provided will remain strictly confidential, police said.
