SHENANDOAH - The borough announced Wednesday that it's beginning its pothole repair project early this year to fix the abundant amount of damage caused by the extreme conditions this past winter.
"Usually, we wait until May or June to begin this project, but we are starting now because the long-range weather forecast indicates there will be no more freezing weather this year," borough Manager Joe Palubinsky said. "It indeed has been a brutal winter, one of the worst in years."
Palubinsky asked that residents report potholes and stated that the largest ones will be repaired first, then the borough will fill them based on size.
"To get an accurate indication of the size of the pothole, we urge residents to first measure the length, width and depth of the potholes and report this to borough hall," Palubinsky said. "We kindly ask that residents reporting potholes not exaggerate their size in an attempt to have them repaired sooner than they should be."
Residents can call the borough hall at 570-462-1918.
