Driver not hurt

in 1-vehicle crash

RINGTOWN - The driver of a 2006 Jeep Wrangler was not injured Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Union Township.

State police at Frackville said Richard A Cusatis, 27, of Hazleton, was driving west about 8:30 a.m. and lost control while rounding a left curve on the wet, ice-covered Brandville Road in the township about 0.1 miles east of Hollow Road.

The Jeep spun 190 degrees clockwise and slid across the oncoming lane and shoulder. The right rear corner of the Jeep hit two mailboxes and a utility pole, police said. It then flipped on its left side, stopping in the eastbound lane facing north. Cusatis was wearing a seat belt, police said.

The Jeep was towed from the scene.

State police and Officer Charles Kovaleski of the Mahanoy City Police Department responded to the scene.

Cusatis was not charged as a result of the incident.
