PORT CARBON - A Shenandoah man charged with a theft on Jan. 25 at Wal-Mart in Saint Clair failed to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko.

Bryan Becker, 24, of 310 W. Columbus St., was arrested by Saint Clair police Patrolman Christopher Zubris and charged with one count of retail theft.

In Becker's absence, Plachko held the charge for Schuylkill County and requested a warrant be issued for the man's arrest.

Zubris charged Becker with going to the store on Terry Rich Boulevard and loading a plastic tote with various items and then purchased a tote similar to that one. The man then returned to the aisle and picked up the tote loaded with items valued at $277.13 and proceeded to leave the store.

He was stopped by store security and detained until police arrived, Zubris said.

Bradley C. McKeone, 22, of 419 Adams St., Pottsville - waived for court: criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Gary N. Rumberger, 39, of 93 N. Maple Ave., Pottsville - dismissed: harassment and stalking.

Janice L. Ramos, 23, of 624 Lewis St., Minersville - waived for court: retail theft.

Bonnie J. Derfler, 40, of 101 S. Bower St., Shenandoah - waived for court: bad checks and theft by deception.

Trevor J. Gibas, 20, of 108 Water St., New Philadelphia - withdrawn: burglary. Waived for court: theft and criminal mischief.

David S. Morey, 29, of 612 N. Second St., Minersville - withdrawn: simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Katherine M. Fergel, 28, of 38 W. South St., Mahanoy City - withdrawn: receiving stolen property. Moved to a nontraffic citation: retail theft.

Mary J. Cappel, 72, of 221 Stadium Hill, Minersville - waived for court: bad checks.

Harry A. Thompson III, 42, of 59 Caroline Ave., Pottsville - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate, disregard for single traffic lane, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.

Peter J. Sharadin, 37, of 3 Schoolhouse Road, Pottsville - waived for court: DUI, disregard for single traffic lane, careless driving, failure to stop and give information or render aid, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles or property and failure to notify police of an accident.

James E. Davis Jr., 22, of 736 E. Third St., Apt. B, Hazleton - waived for court: retail theft and receiving stolen property.

Jason Pesavage, 35, of 425 W. Penn St., Shenandoah - held for court: retail theft and receiving stolen property.

TAMAQUA - A Coaldale man charged with stealing video games and consoles from a Coaldale home Nov. 21 or 22 had charges against him held for court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer.

Keith M. Evert, 24, of 134 Miner St., was arrested by state police Trooper Arthur Wink of the Frackville station and charged with felony theft and misdemeanor theft by deception. Bayer determined the Commonwealth proved a prima facie case and ordered both charges held for Schuylkill County Court.

Wink charged Every with stealing 43 assorted Playstation 3 games valued at $1,290 and 39 Wii games valued at $1,100 from the home of Edward Lee Allen.

The value of the items taken totaled $2,390, Wink said.

Tara L. Palermo-Natt, 38, of 40 Centre St., Box 91, Kelayres - waived for court: theft, theft of property lost or delivered by mistake, receiving stolen property, forgery, access device issued to another person and conspiracy.

David N. Benitez, 30, of 100 Market St., Tamaqua - waived for court: forgery, theft, receiving stolen property and access device issued to another person.

Jacqueline J. Slaven, 38, of 29 E. Elm St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua - waived for court: possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, altered or misbranded controlled substances, dissemination or publication of misleading advertisements, operating a methamphetamine lab, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of children.

Ashley L. Roberts, 28, of 33 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua - withdrawn: selling a controlled substance. Waived for court: retail theft.

Eric J. Piacenti, 24, of 320 Coal St., Hazleton - waived for court: possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, turning movements and required signals and no rear lights.

Brian W. Lauer, 46, of Box 38, 31 James St., Kelayres - waived for court: possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeremy N. Ruiz, 32, of 129 S. Chestnut St., Bath - waived for court: DUI-controlled substance and following too closely.

Jude W. Lauer, 44, of 31 James St., Box 38, Kelayres - waived for court: possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Francis W. Chambers, 26, of 409 W. Broad St., Apt. 2, Tamaqua - waived for court: criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Daniel R. Murphy, 26, of 310 Fredna Ave., Montgomery - waived for court: DUI, DUI-high rate, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, careless driving, obedience to traffic control signals, driving a vehicle without a valid inspection and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Justin R. Vereen, 20, of 73 Hunter St., Tamaqua - waived for court: receiving stolen property.

Thomas Betzler, 20, of 1602 Richmond Road, Easton - waived for court: making repairs to or selling offensive weapons and driving at an unsafe speed.

Matthew Bahrey, 21, of 15 Haddock Road, McAdoo - held for court: theft and receiving stolen property.

Hubert W. Budd, 20, of 431 Glenwood Ave., Tamaqua - withdrawn: possession of drug paraphernalia.
