Christopher M. Turofski is headed to state prison after admitting Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court that he indecently assaulted two girls and burglarized a building in Gordon.
Turofski, 20, of Gordon, pleaded guilty to two counts each of indecent assault and corruption of minors and one of indecent exposure in one case and burglary in a second. Prosecutors withdrew a second count of indecent exposure in the first case and one count each of theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the second.
Judge Charles M. Miller accepted Turofski's plea, and, pursuant to an agreement between prosecutors and the defendant, sentenced him to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution and five additional years on probation.
Miller also sentenced Turofski to pay costs, $100 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $1,291.44 restitution, have no contact with his victims, submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities and undergo an evaluation by the state Sexual Offenders Assessment Board to determine whether he is a sexually violent predator.
Butler Township police filed both sets of charges, even though the incidents occurred in Gordon.
In the one case, police said Turofski assaulted two girls, one age 12 and the other age 8, between Dec. 31, 2012, and July 2, 2013.
Police said Turofski admitted to performing a lewd act on each girl, although he initially denied having any indecent contact with either one.
In the second case, police said Turofski burglarized a building on Oct. 6, 2012.
Turofski is not yet finished with the legal system.
He pleaded guilty on Jan. 27 in Northumberland County Court to indecent assault and indecent exposure, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of corruption of minors.
President Judge William H. Wiest, who accepted the plea, has scheduled Turofski's sentencing in that case for 9:15 a.m. May 19.
Ralpho Township police have charged Turofski with assaulting and exposing himself to a 7-year-old girl on Dec. 26, 2012, in Elysburg. That victim was the 8-year-old girl in the Schuylkill County case. Defendant: Christopher M. Turofski
