Police file charges

after incident

MAHANOY CITY - A Shenandoah woman was charged by Mahanoy City police after an incident on Feb. 22 at 6 N. B St.

Police said Kimberly A. Fabian, 48, of 35 S. Bower St., was charged with unauthorized use of automobiles, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked and drivers required to be licensed.

Police said Fabian was parking a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck when it rolled back into a vehicle owned by Jennifer Kern, Mahanoy City, causing minor damage to the bumper.

Fabian did not have a valid driver's license, police said, and she was not allowed to be driving the truck that is owned by her employer, police said.

Fabian will now have to answer to the charges before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.

2 escape injury

in 2-vehicle crash

ORWIGSBURG - Two people escaped injury when their vehicles collided about 1 p.m. Thursday at routes 61 and 9401, the Tasty Freeze jug handle, in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Sandra M. Spirko, 67, of Pottsville, was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus north in the left lane of Route 61 when she drove through a red light and struck a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Robert Emerich, 76, of Orwigsburg, who proceeded into the intersection from the jug handle with a green light to travel east on Route 443.

Police said Spirko will be cited for a traffic control signal violation.

Orwigsburg firefighters and Pottsville-Schuylkill Haven Area EMS assisted at the scene.

3 escape injury

in rear-end crash

Three people escaped injury after a read-end collision at 3:56 p.m. Friday on the Gordon Nagle Trail, about 600 feet north of SPCA Road, North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Stacey G. Moyer, 43, of Pottsville, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic east on the Gordon Nagle Trail when she slowed down for another vehicle she thought was going to travel in her lane and was struck from behind by a 2003 Cadillac Deville, driven by Gloria M. Dutcavich, 81, of Minersville.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Civic, Donald L. Moyer, 49, of Pottsville, were not injured.

Dutcavich was cited for careless driving, police said.
