U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright said Wednesday he's done a good job in his first term as a congressman and deserves another as he kicked off his re-election at the Greenwood Hose Company in Moosic.
In an interview earlier in the day, Cartwright, D-17, Moosic, pointed to 25 bills he's introduced and one in particular that's language was added to a federal spending bill passed by Congress and signed by the president. That bill gave a raise to certain federal employees who had been denied one for four years.
"There are members of Congress who've gone 20 years without passing a substantive bill," he said. "I did it in my first year. I'm hoping to continue that for many years into the future."
Cartwright said he would continue to concentrate on economic development.
