Criminal court, July 18, 2017

POTTSVILLE — In recent Schuylkill County Court action, President Judge William E. Baldwin accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:

Cecily E. Levan, 22, of Reading; possession of drug paraphernalia; six months probation, $100 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account.

Benito F. Reynoso, 22, of Pottsville; theft, fleeing or eluding police, resisting arrest and driving under suspension; six to 23 months in prison, $200 fine and $50 CJEA payment. Prosecutors withdrew charges of receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, reckless driving, careless driving, driving without a license and three counts of stop sign violation.

Raymond Santiago, 20, of Bronx, New York; terroristic threats and purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of an alcoholic beverage; six to 12 months in prison and $25 fine. Prosecutors withdrew a second count of terroristic threats and a charge of disorderly conduct.

Matthew Sleva, 29, of Pottsville; tampering with evidence and theft; one to two years in a state correctional institution, $5 CJEA payment, $250 restitution and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew two counts of receiving stolen property.

Jonathan L. Speer, 28, of Tremont; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; time served to 12 months in prison with immediate parole, $100 SAEF payment, $50 CJEA payment and $113 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Thomas F. Stanton, 28, of Shenandoah; possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft; 24 months probation, $400 in fines, $100 SAEF payment and $100 in CJEA payments. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of defiant trespass.

Vanessa M. Zapotosky, 27, of Tamaqua; improper furnishing of drug-free urine; time served to 12 months in prison with immediate parole.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
