2 on motorcycle

injured in I-81 crash

McADOO — Two people were flown to a regional trauma center Saturday morning after their motorcycle blew a tire and crashed on Interstate 81 in Kline Township, state police at Frackville said.

The motorcycle, driven by Thomas D. Goodson, 60, of Dundalk, Maryland, was headed south on the highway when the tire blew and he could not maintain control just before 11 a.m., police said.

The motorcycle crossed into the median and flipped end over end, ejecting Goodson and a passenger, Patricia Belicastro, 59, of Baltimore, police said.

Goodson and Belicastro suffered injures and were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, police said.

McAdoo Fire Company set a landing zoning in a cemetery on Washington Street in McAdoo for two medical helicopters.

Both victims were wearing helmets, police said.

Shenandoah man found with heroin

SHENANDOAH — A borough man was jailed after being arrested by Shenandoah police after being found with 250 bags of heroin on Thursday.

Police said John Riddick, 37, of 432 W. Oak St., was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver heroin and misdemeanor offenses of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing the administration of law.

Riddick was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 bail.

Police said the incident leading to the charges unfolded about 3 p.m. as borough officers were assisting state parole agents in trying to locate a parolee at 432 E. Oak St.

Police said Riddick answered the door and officers smelled marijuana. When police informed Riddick they were coming into the home, he tried to block the entrance.

Police said when officers were able to enter, they found raw heroin and drug paraphernalia in plain view and subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant.

During the search, police said, they recovered 250 bags of heroin, raw heroin, scales with heroin residue, rubber bands used to wrap heroin bags into “bundles” and about 1,000 individual baggies used to package heroin.

In Riddick’s pockets, police said, officers found eight bags containing heroin that were packaged in the same heroin bags recovered during the search along with $375 in cash.

Shen Heights man charged with robbery

SHENANDOAH — A Shenandoah Heights man was jailed after being charged by Shenandoah police with a robbery at the playgrounds and baseball field on Herald Road between 5:20 and 6 p.m. July 17.

Police said Sydiq Shenoster, 18, of 245 Florida Ave., was charged with two felony counts of robbery; one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct; and a misdemeanor count of harassment.

He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post 10 percent of $20,000 bail.

Patrolman David Stamets charged Shenoster with going to the Babe Ruth Field and approaching William Coyle, demanding that he give him his money.

Stamets said Coyle reported being afraid and removing his money from his pocket, telling the man to take it, but Shenoster struck him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

Stamets said Coyle tried to cover his face but Shenoster struck him in the face again, twisted his arm behind his back and then struck him a third time before ripping the money from his hand and fleeing the area.

Weatherly man faces trespassing charges

MOREA — A Weatherly man is facing charges by state police at Frackville stemming from an incident at homes at 171 and 121 Lower St. in this Mahanoy Township village between 11 p.m. and midnight Friday.

State police at Frackville said Diane Slomowicz, 40, of Morea, had just gained a divorce settlement from Eric Felegie, 39, of Weatherly, who had not been living in their home since March.

On Friday, police said, the woman came home and found Felegie sleeping on her living room sofa. The incident was handled by Mahanoy Township police, during which the man was told to leave.

Police said the man returned several hours later to retrieve a vest he left at the scene and, after finding no one home, entered and retrieved the vest.

Feligie went to a condemned home owned by him and his wife and slept on the floor overnight, police said.

Police said Felegie now faces charges of criminal trespass stemming from the incidents.

Reading man faces

trespassing charge

ASHLAND — A Reading man was arrested by state police at Frackville and charged with criminal trespass after an incident on Centre Street between 11 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday.

Police said Thomas D. Wakefield, 43, forced his way into a home and fell asleep in a downstairs room. Although Wakefield was known by the occupants, he was not welcome to enter the home and stay there.

Police said Wakefield was arrested without incident and arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi, Tremont, on charges of criminal trespass and loitering and prowling at night. He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $5,000 straight cash bail, police said.

Woman charged with scattering rubbish

LYKENS — State police at Lykens charged a borough woman with scattering rubbish and disorderly conduct Saturday.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, Deeanna Skye Printz, 22, threw waste on the roadway at Main and Pine streets, police said.

While driving by in a vehicle, Printz yelled obscenities at a person who saw her do it, a 45-year-old man from Lykens whom police did not name in the report.

Lykens man charged with DUI

HALIFAX — At a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint on June 24, state police at Lykens charged a Lykens man with driving under the influence.

Police said the incident occurred at 11:05 p.m. on state Route 225 near Halifax High School, Halifax Township, Dauphin County, as Craig Lee Daniels, 47, stopped at the checkpoint. Police found Daniels was under the influence of a combination of alcohol and a controlled substance that rendered him incapable of safe driving. He was processed and released, police said.

Charges were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Gregory D. Johnson, Dauphin, police said.
