n Deer Lake: The Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Company will sponsor bingo games from 6 to 8:39 p.m. Tuesday in the firehall, 1 Ash Road. Doors will open at 5 p.m. All are welcome. For more information, call 570-366-0152.

n McAdoo: The McAdoo Lions Club will sponsor a trip to Sands Casino, Bethlehem, on March 17. The cost is $22 with a $20 slot rebate and $5 for food. The bus will depart at 10 a.m. from the former St. Kunegunda Church. It will leave from the casino at 5 p.m. for the return trip. Participants will also be able to take a break from gambling and do some spring shopping at the Sands Outlets. n Orwigsburg: Kindergarten registration dates and times have been set for Blue Mountain School District resident children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. At the same time, according to a district press release, registration will be held for children who did not attend kindergarten but are eligible for first grade. For first grade, children must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1. For Blue Mountain Elementary East, registration is set for 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 26. The snow date is March 6, same times. For Blue Mountain Elementary West, registration will be 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. March 4. The snow date is March 11, same times. Kindergarten registration information packets can be picked up at the Blue Mountain Elementary offices beginning Feb. 5. Parents/guardians will need proof of residency, proof of child's age and immunization record. For more information, call 570-739-4461.

n Pottsville: An American Girl Tea Party will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Pottsville Free Public Library, 215 W. Market St. Participants, ages 5 to 12, are urged to dress up, according to a press release. The party will include the library's new American Girl dolls. n Primrose: St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville, will sponsor a halupki dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Nicholas Hall, Route 901. Meals will include halupki, filling, mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll. The cost is $9 per meal. Patrons may eat in the hall or take meals out. For more information, call 570-544-4581.

n Ringtown: The Ringtown Area Library will host free preschool storytime sessions from 10 to 11:15 a.m. every Monday through March 10 for children ages 3 to 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All local families with preschool-aged children are invited to attend, allowing children to socialize with other children and to gain essential pre-reading skills. Children must be registered in advance at the library.

n Ringtown: The Ringtown Area Library, 132 W. Main St., is taking orders for a Deppen pie sale. All pies are $9 and varieties include blueberry crumb, apple crumb, strawberry rhubarb crumb, cherry crumb, peach, raisin, shoofly, coconut custard, lemon sponge and or no-sugar apple. The order and payment deadline is Feb. 12. Pies can be picked up at the library on Feb. 26.

n Schuylkill Haven: A blood drive by the American Red Cross Blood Services Northeast Pennsylvania Region is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 at Penn State Schuylkill campus, Route 61. To make an appointment to donate blood, call 800-733-2767 or go online to redcrossblood.org. People 17 or older (16 with parental permission) weighing at least 110 pounds and in general good health are eligible to donate blood. Donors should bring their Red Cross blood donor card or another form of positive identification.

n Zion Grove: A sauerkraut supper is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Lutheran Church. The menu will include pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and dessert. The cost is $8 per adult and $4 per child 12 and younger. Children under 5 can eat free. Takeouts will be available. All are welcome.
