ORWIGSBURG — Charges are pending after borough police responded to an incident at Albright’s Woods on Saturday.
Police said an adult man and a juvenile boy face charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at the community park.
Police said an officer on patrol encountered a group of teenagers inside the park and also detected an overwhelming odor of alcohol coming from them. A further investigation led to the seizure of marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia, police said.
The name of the adult involved in the incident was not released.

ORWIGSBURG — Borough police are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred Saturday in the 600 block of Industrial Drive.
Police said officers came in contact with a vehicle occupied by two men. While speaking to the two, police said they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside.
An investigation revealed that the men were in possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police said the men, who they did not identify, now have to appear before Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier on drug-related charges.
Dog owner faces
charges in attack
ORWIGSBURG — Charges are pending against the owner of a pit bull that attacked another dog April 4 in the 600 block of West Cherry Street, police said.
Borough police said the victim was walking his dog in the area when a white pit bull, owned by a resident who was not identified, ran toward him and attacked his dog.
The victim’s dog required emergency veterinary care and follow-up treatment but is expected to recover, police said.
The pit bull is still subject to quarantine, after which a determination will be made as to what charges will be filed, police said.
Traffic stop spurs
charge for woman
McADOO — A Lansford woman was charged by McAdoo police stemming from a traffic stop in the borough that occurred at 10:25 p.m. Feb. 25.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle driven by Katherine Elliott, 32, for an equipment violation and detected an odor of marijuana. Police said the woman failed a field sobriety test and admitted to using marijuana earlier in the day.
The woman was taken into custody, and officers said they discovered she had a small plastic bag of marijuana in her bra, police said. A subsequent blood test revealed Elliott had marijuana in her system, police said.
In addition to herself, police said the woman had three children, ages 8, 7 and 3, inside the vehicle.
Police said Elliott was charged with two counts of DUI, including a higher graded offense due to the children in the vehicle, along with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge for having the head lamp not working.

McADOO — An investigation into a Feb. 24 incident led to McAdoo police filing charges against a Freeland woman.
Police said Tiffany Yeick, 42, will have to answer before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle in which Yeick was a passenger for having tires that extended beyond the frame and detected an odor of marijuana inside.
Yeick admitted there were several “joints” in the ash tray, and officers said they seized two full marijuana joints and three small joints with burnt marijuana residue inside the ash tray.

drug charges for 2
McADOO — A traffic stop by borough police for a speeding vehicle led to charges against two Allentown men.
Police said Tucker Kuhlmann, 19, and Trevor Seagraves, 18, were charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana while Seagraves was also charged with speeding.
Police said officers stopped a vehicle driven by Seagraves and, after finding an odor of marijuana inside, conducted a search.
That search resulted in officers finding marijuana inside a plastic cylinder, a small plastic bag containing marijuana and a book bag containing various items of drug paraphernalia, police said.

DUI patrol results
The North Central PA Regional DUI Enforcement Program released the results of two enforcement details conducted last month.
On March 17, a Roving DUI Patrol was conducted by one officer resulting in 10 vehicles contacted and detained and one driver tested for DUI.
The officer made one DUI arrest along with three traffic arrests and issued seven warning notices.
On March 25, two officers from two departments conducted a Roving DUI Patrol that resulted in 12 vehicles contacted and detained and one driver tested for DUI.
There were no DUI arrests, but the officers made six traffic arrests, three criminal arrests and issued five warning notices.
