n Pottsville: Patrick M. "Porcupine Pat" McKinney, environmental education coordinator for the Schuylkill Conservation District, will present a program titled, "Schuylkill County is Renowned For ... (being the No. 2 grower of potatoes in PA)," at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Schuylkill County Historical Society headquarters, 305 N. Centre St. McKinney, according to a release, has more than 16 items that will enlighten about the county and its people. The program is free and open to the public.

Parents, according to a school press release, are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to discuss with teachers the progress of their sons or daughters.
