Palo Alto burglary
PALO ALTO - State police from Schuylkill Haven are investigating a recent burglary in the borough.
Police said Sandra Haley, 63, of Palo Alto, reported that someone stole items from 26 Cadbury St. in the borough between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Schuylkill Haven at 570-739-1330.
2 face charges
after vehicle stop
HOMETOWN - Two people are facing charges by Rush Township police after separate vehicle stops in the township.
Police said Maria Whah, 33, of Mahanoy City, is facing charges of DUI and other traffic offenses after she was stopped about 1:10 a.m. Nov. 26 on Delano Road.
Whah was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street where a blood test determined that she had marijuana in her system.
In another recent stop, police said Daniel R. Murphy, 25, of Montgomery, will be charged with DUI and traffic offenses.
Police said Murphy was stopped on Claremont Avenue and a subsequent blood test at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street determined he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.150-percent.
Both Whah and Murphy will have to answer to the charges against them before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua.
