Police probe

equipment theft

DONALDSON - Someone broke into a garage and took $5,000 worth of equipment between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the person or persons broke into Kintzel Portable Welding, 20 Martin St., and stole a Lincoln Aluminum spool gun, Hypo-Thermo Maximum plasma cutter, Evolution magnetic drill, 3/4-drive socket set, wrench set, Central Pneumatic spray gun and a rechargeable light and fled in an unknown direction.

Burglars steal

workshop tools

DONALDSON - Someone broke into a man's workshop and stole $800 worth of tools between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Richard Dinger, 71, reported that someone stole an impact wrench and battery drill, a heavy-duty Milwaukee reciprocal saw, Craftsman's 3/8-inch impact drill and a half-inch drill. The burglar(s) fled in an unknown direction.

Minersville pair

arrested for drugs

MINERSVILLE - A borough man and woman were arrested by Minersville Police and each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident about 6:45 p.m. Jan. 2 at their 453 North St. home.

Police said Frederick C. Hess, 40, and Janis L. Hess, 36, will have to answer to the charge against them before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.

Police said officers executed a search warrant at the home for suspected narcotics trafficking and found two hypodermic needles and two spoons with white residue in an upstairs bedroom.

Also inside was a cigarette pack that contained multiple wax paper baggies with white residue, police said.

Officers also found a wax paper baggie commonly used to purchase heroin marked "Bingo" and a wooded smoking device with marijuana residue on it, police said.

The white substance on the baggies, spoons and syringes field tested positive for heroin, police said.

Shen woman

faces drug charges

MINERSVILLE - Minersville police arrested a Shenandoah woman on drug charges after an incident about 3:20 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Dollar General parking lot on Sunbury Street.

Police said Jenna K. Lindenmuth, 23, of 231 Mount Olive Blvd., was charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Police charged Lindenmuth after she met with a confidential police informant and sold him one ounce of marijuana inside a McDonald's bag for $100.

4 businesses cited

for violations

Four Schuylkill County businesses were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for various liquor law violations.

Those cited were:

Kory B. Bates Sr., 15 Berkley Drive, Barnesville - failing to have the board-approved manager complete RAMP, Responsible Alcohol Management Program, training within 180-days of the board's approval of the appointment between.

McNiff's Irish Pub, 30 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City - permitting use of a loud speaker or similar devices that allowed the sounds of music or other entertainment to be heard outside the property lines. The violation happened Sept. 21 and 22.

County Squire Restaurant and Motel Inc., 300 Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven - failing to comply with responsible alcohol management training as ordered by an Administrative Law Judge.

Longboards, AKA Toom's Pub, 204-206 Peacock St., Pottsville - failing to notify the Liquor Control Board within 15 days of a change of manager.

3 escape injury

in 1-vehicle crash

SHEPPTON - Three people escaped injury when the 1997 Ford Escort they were driving crashed about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 924, just south of Sheppton in East Union Township.

State police at Frackville said Rebecca Thompson, 24, of Mount Carmel, was traveling south when she went off the road and struck the guiderail.

Thompson and her passengers - Sarah Thompson, 22, and Rachel Thompson, 18, both of Mount Carmel - were not injured, but police said the car was towed from the scene.

Vehicle hits ice,

strikes front porch

BARNESVILLE - A woman and two teenagers escaped injury when the 2005 Chevrolet Aveo they were in crashed about 11:40 a.m. Tuesday on Route 54, Barnesville Drive, in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Kellie Laine, 43, of Mahanoy City, was driving east when she struck a large patch of ice and lost control. The car spun out of control and struck the front porch at 1105 Barnesville Drive and had to be towed from the scene.

Laine and her two 17-year-old passengers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, police said.

Laine will receive a citation as a result of the crash, police said.

Ryan Township EMS and Mahanoy City firefighters assisted at the scene and with traffic control.

Police investigate

vehicle theft

RAVINE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred between 6:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday on a parking lot adjacent to Molleystown Road and the Interstate 81 on-ramp at Exit 104 in Tremont Township.

Police said George Davis, Pottsville, reported someone entered his vehicle and stole a small black Maglite flashlight, a flashlight pouch, a locking lug nut key and a pouch from his glove box before fleeing.

Police investigate

Tremont burglary

TREMONT - A burglary that occurred between 9 a.m. Dec. 29 and 8 a.m. Jan. 1 at 210 Tremont Road in Tremont Township is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Police said someone entered a metal shed owned by Brenda Moyer and removed two tool boxes full of tools owned by Thomas Zerbe, Tremont.

One of the tool boxes was a large black Craftsman rolling tool box with slide-out drawers and the other a smaller, red Craftsman toolbox, also with slide-out drawers.

Later, the person forced their way into a wooded shed behind the metal shed by breaking a locking handle and stole a Dell desktop computer, a computer monitor and an amplified stereo speaker for an electric guitar owned by Thomas Zerbe and Herbert Zerbe Jr.

Lansford woman

faces theft charges

HOMETOWN - A woman is facing two counts each of retail theft and receiving stolen property after separate incidents at Wal-Mart.

Rush Township police said that on Dec. 21, police said Katerine R. White, 39, of Lansford, stole items valued at $124.81 and on Jan. 4 she removed items valued at $252.66.

After the Jan. 4 incident, police said White fled the store on foot but was stopped by loss prevention personnel.
