Man not injured
in 1-car crash
RINGTOWN - A 27-year-old Shenandoah man was not injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5 p.m. Friday on Ringtown Boulevard in Union Township.
State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as a 1999 Subaru Legacy, driven by John D. Bobbit, Shenandoah, was traveling south on Ringtown Boulevard.
Bobbit allegedly failed to stay in his lane and went off the east berm of the road and hit an embankment with the passenger side of his vehicle.
The vehicle then traveled about 100 feet with its passenger side tires on the embankment, through a drainage covert, before coming to rest on the east berm of the roadway facing south, police said.
Bobbit was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
The vehicle sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
Bobbit was cited for failing to drive within a single lane, police said.

RINGTOWN - A 38-year-old Palmerton man was not injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:14 p.m. Wednesday on Hughes Street, near Keim Street.
State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as a 2014 Ford Escape, driven by Johnny J. Yurkunas, 38, of Palmerton, was traveling east on Hughes Street in Ringtown.
Yurkunas fell asleep while driving around a left-hand curve in the roadway, police said.
The vehicle exited the south berm, struck an embankment and came to rest in the creek along the berm.
Yurkunas will be cited in relation to the crash for failing to drive within a single lane.

PINE GROVE - State police at Jonestown investigated an incident at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 7 in which a 64-year-old Pine Grove man's identity was stolen and a cellphone was activated in his name.
Police said that a wireless account was opened in Donald Schaeffer's name, but he contacted Verizon and it was deactivated before any charges incurred.

TOWER CITY - A 50-year-old Shillington man was not injured in an incident at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, in which his vehicle slid on a patch of ice.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred as Steven Haller, 50, of Shillington, driving a 2012 Ford F550 that was towing an empty double axel trailer, was traveling north on Route 209.
While driving around a left curve in the roadway, Haller drove over a patch of ice and began to slide.
His vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a mailbox on the southbound shoulder.
After spinning clockwise, the vehicle came to rest off the shoulder on the northbound berm with the trailer still attached, police said.
The vehicle was pulled from the berm and back onto the roadway by a tow truck and then was driven from the scene.
Police said that the roadway contained scattered areas of ice.
Man charged
for 2-car crash
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A Pottsville woman suffered minor injuries from a crash at 8:35 a.m. Friday on Main Street and Manheim Road in North Manheim Township.
State police at Schuykill Haven said the crash occurred as a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, driven by Lucille Moyer, 87, of Pottsville, was traveling east on East Main Street and a 1989 Mack truck, driven by Joseph K. Kriston, 49, of Branchdale, was traveling south on Manheim Road.
Kriston made a left turn onto Main Street and allegedly didn't see Moyer approaching.
Moyer's vehicle struck Kriston's vehicle in the driver side door with its right front bumper.
Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane of East Main Street.
Moyer was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven EMS. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Kriston faces charges for failing to obey stop and yield signs, police said.
Assisting at the scene was Rainbow Hose Company, Schuykill Hose Company No. 2 and fire police.
No injuries
in 4-vehicle crash
CRESSONA - Four people escaped injury in a four-vehicle crash at 12:49 p.m. Saturday on Sillyman Street and Millers Alley.
State police at Schuykill Haven said the crash occurred as a 2012 Nissan, driven by Alicia R. Ellex, 23, of Cressona, was attempting to make a left turn from Millers Alley south onto Sillyman Street.
As she pulled out, her vehicle was struck by a 2008 Cadillac STS, driven by Brandon G. Schwenk, 27, of Pottsville, that was traveling south.
Police said, Schwenk then veered to the right and hit a utility pole.
After the initial impact, Ellex crashed into a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Donna M. Plachko, 47, of Saint Clair, which stopped in traffic north on Sillyman Street.
Ellex's vehicle then spun and hit a 2000 Mazda, driven by Dakota P. Shoemaker, 22, of Auburn, with passenger, Chelsea S. Fleming, 21, of Auburn, police said.
All vehicles, excluding Shoemaker's, were towed from the scene.
There were no charges filed in relation to the incident.
