ORWIGSBURG - A Pottsville man is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on two sets of charges stemming from separate incidents.

Jeremy J. Guida, 20, of 507A Mahantongo St., must defend against a charge of corruption of minors in one case and charges of theft and receiving stolen property in the other.

Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier bound over all charges for court after Guida waived his right to the hearing.

Schuylkill Haven police filed the corruption of minors charge, alleging Guida gave marijuana to a 10-year-old girl at 4 p.m. Dec. 23, 2012, at 200 E. Main St. in the borough.

In the other case, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Guida stole $250 between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 1 at McDonald's Restaurant, 981 E. Main St., North Manheim Township. Guida took the money from a safe at the restaurant, police said.

Guida is free on $3,500 unsecured bail, $2,500 in the theft case and $1,000 in the corruption case, pending further court action.

Also on Tuesday before Ferrier, Nelson Eduardo Torres-Creado, 19, of 13 Center Ave., Schuylkill Haven, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of defiant trespass. Ferrier bound over the charge for the county court.
